Missouri Supreme Court Affirms $500,000 Punitive Damage Jury Award

In Estate of Max E. Overbey, Deceased, and Glenna J Overbey v. Chad Franklin, 361 S.W.3d 364, 2012 WL 716460 (Mo. 2012) the Missouri Supreme Court affirmed the jury verdict and due process challenge to a punitive damages ratio of 111 to 1 where $500,000 of punitive damages was awarded with only $4,500 of actual damages.
